About My Campaign Platform
A Community-Centred Platform
This platform is based on a simple principle:
Municipal government should be understandable, accessible and connected to the people it serves.
Ward 6 deserves a representative who listens to residents and works constructively with community organizations, City staff, other levels of government, local businesses and neighbourhood groups.
The priorities in this platform are intended to provide a framework for discussion and community input.
They cover affordability, housing, transportation, neighbourhood safety, environmental justice, economic development, recreation, accountability, animal welfare and accessibility.
Listening First
Residents experience their neighbourhoods every day.
They know where sidewalks need attention.
They know where traffic creates problems.
They know which parks need improvements.
They know where accessibility barriers exist.
They know how environmental conditions affect their neighbourhood.
They know which community services are working and which ones need improvement.
Community knowledge should be part of municipal decision making.
Evidence and Accountability
Good municipal decisions require both community input and reliable information.
Major decisions should be evaluated according to cost, long term maintenance, community benefit, accessibility, environmental impact and municipal responsibility.
Progress should be measured and communicated openly.
The conflicts of interest in Ward 6 need to be reduced and more transparent.

I have a background in community supports, political science, criminology, culture, psychotherapy, spiritual care, theology, global studies, experiential work and more. I serve on boards, councils and committees and have taken part in work and engagements locally, nationally and internationally. I am a young woman who has gained vast experiences and perspectives; and will continue to advance this and advance our community for you. My reputation of hard work and dedication will be translated into the work I do for the City of Kitchener if elected.
